Canyoning / kanjonointi

Years ago, I watched this TV program "The Amazing Race". One time all the competitors went canyoning in a place I can't remember.. Was is New Zealand or something? It looked a lot of fun! The streams between the cliffs formed kind of like nature's own water slides, and the competitors had to slide down them.

Now, after years, it suddenly bumped into my head. I would love to go some place where you can do that kind of stuff, you know, slide down nature's own water slides. Does anyone know where you can do this kind of activity?
