Welcome to Madventures English forum

Postby anttipesonen » 30-07-2009 19:25

Namaste! As you can see, the English-language forum is now open - and very empty for the time being. We welcome any comments and questions you may have, even if the official US launch date is still weeks away - September 21st, at 10 E/P, to be exact.

Be sure to check out our Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/madventures. You can find us on Facebook and MySpace too.

And that's not all - there's also Travel Channel's very own Madventures page at http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Madventures and their Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/madventuresUS.

Keep your ear to the ground for UK premiere and showtimes - coming soon to Fiver!

Hello to other English speaking Madventures fans! I'm in Berkeley California, and I've been following along this program. My mother and her parents spoke Finnish, so I have 50% Finnish heritage, but of course, I speak not a word of Finnish language. Still, I'm interested in Finnish programs and movies. I find Riku to be quite entertaining in the English episodes. These guys make Finland look cool. Well, almost, at least...

What I wonder, is there any information about the equipment they use to record the show. What kind of camera do they use, and how do they record the sound? I'm interested in how much gear they carry with them. Sometimes I see Tunna is holding the camera and manages to get both of them in the shot, and I'd be interested in seeing a picture of how he does this exactly.

I believe that this is the camera type that Madventures is using (at least very close to that model). I have no idea about the audio equipment.

Hey, the first posters! Sorry to keep you waiting - it's been so quiet here I'd almost forgotten about this place!

Yes, Tunna's A-camera is Sony EX-1 HD and the secondary, smaller cam is Sony HDV A1. Sound is usually taken in through the camera microphones or when there's time to prepare properly, small wireless mic unit.

With almost 19% of the world's population speaking English, will English subtitles ever be released for the first two seasons on DVD? Love the show and thank you for your hard work thus far!

I just caught this show last night and it was great.
Too bad that you need to put the disclaimers and cautions at the start of the show, these are the sorts of things that people should be going out and seeing instead of the usual tourist traps.
Many years ago I escaped America and traveled around a lot, staying away from the normal places. After winding up in a den of thieves and pirates outside of Medan, Sumatra, I came out of it shaky, but thankful for the experience.
Keep going guys, and hopefully you will inspire others to take off, get out and explore our world. Being in the States a lot of Americans are fearful of travel and going abroad, until you do, you don't realize that a healthy amount of fear is necessary. If you ever find yourselves in Idaho, Riku and Tunna, beer is on me!

I have been watching the show this season, and love it. I have a new favorite show! :inlove:
Also have been spreading the 'Mad' word to friends and family. Now we have viewing parties to watch. I'll admit though, we aren't using any of the madcook recipes! lol

Keep it up guys!

Big kudos to both of you!! You've made an awesome show, and look forward to seeing what you have in store for season 4. Do you know where you will be traveling too yet, have you planned the route yet?

One of my favorite parts in each episode is when Tunna wakes Riku from his deep slumber lol and Riku you're always ready to kick someones ass!!!

Keep up the good work guys!!!!

There's no official word about it but I don't think they'll go for fourth season during 2010. Riku still has that infection in his behind after the jungle treks of 3rd season and they still got work to do with the episodes they are going to air around the world.

Hello Madventures,
Thank you for making such an awesome show. I came across it last October while stuck at home recovering from a kidney transplant. I was up at 2am one night unable to sleep from a combination of anti rejection drugs and pain meds. I was searching youtube for a video about a cheerleader when what do my eyes see on the side of the screen, a guy in a Japanese schoolgirl uniform. So of course I had to check it out, I laughed so hard I thought I was going to rip out my stitches. I then proceeded to sit at my computer and watch about 5 hours of videos that I found on youtube. I have never laughed, gagged and cried (cambodia) so much in my life. I would have to say the placenta episode is probably my favorite. Too funny! Keep up the great work, oh and thanks for teaching me how to drop the f- bomb in Finnish.

Fan from US,
Sherry
